Here we are—3 weeks into our life in Eleuthera!  We’re so blessed to be here.  Our hearts are continually in thankful gratitude to God for all of the support we have received from friends and family.  In all of the rush to start unpacking, my heart almost forgot to stay connected to God through Bible study.  How did that happen?

This past week, God summoned me.  Oh how thankful I am to be drawn back to Him.  As I finished reading a book called A Glimpse of Grace, I was so excited to see the author’s journey to trusting who Christ is and all of His faithfulness.  This is something that I love to keep learning about.  Trusting God is sometimes a hard thing for me.  I fall into worry so often.   As I read about her journey, it was so neat to see how much peace she continued to receive from God.  Peace.  I love that.  I also read in my devotion book where it also taught about the peace of Christ that overcomes you as you trust in Him more and more.

Uh-oh!  What is God gearing me up for?  I realize there will be so many challenges this school year.  Is this why?  Surely.

The transition from teaching preschool to older grades will be tough.  It’s not just that though.  It’s the difference in culture.  Oh Lord, please help me trust.  I do know though that over the course of my long journey to trusting Christ—trust+obedience to Him=PEACE.  Thank you Lord!

Those are my thoughts for this week.  Please pray for us.  We love you all.

Oh I am so happy for you!! It makes me proud to tell everyone what you are doing!!! Obedience is not always the easiest or most popular track to take, but you are exactly where God wants you to be! You are there with purpose and I can’t wait to see and hear about all the goodness that will come from you being there!!! I can’t wait for school to start to begin to hear all the good stories!!

Hey Melissa, I took a full time job with Little Elm ISD. I was at training today and was thinking about how nervous I am about being back in the public schools full time….how much things have changed, getting my family used to the new schedule, and (most importantly) making sure I continue to have daily Bible study and time with my Father. Then I started thinking about you and what an adjustment you must be making….then I logged on and read your post. I know that God put you on my heart during my training. I love how He works….I’m glad He did. I’ll be praying for you as you begin this new teaching adventure and will think of you as I experience my new adventures. I continue to thank God for your obedience and look forward to hearing how He will use you.
